Expulsion of 625 Foreign Nationals from Cambodia for Immigration and Legal Violations

Background

On February 7, 2026, following directives from senior officials of the Ministry of Interior and the General Department of Immigration (GDI), coordinated enforcement actions were conducted against foreign nationals violating Cambodian immigration laws.

A total of 625 foreign nationals (6 women included) from six countries were expelled from Cambodia. The nationalities involved are India, Pakistan, China, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

Among them, 110 Chinese nationals were connected to cases of online fraud. Additionally, 548 Myanmar nationals were found to have entered Cambodia illegally and worked without authorization.

The expulsions were carried out at international entry points including Phnom Penh International Airport (Techo) and the Prey Veng international border checkpoint.
