GDI Deports Over 1,500 Foreign Nationals, Targeting Online Scams
The General Department of Immigration (GDI) reported the deportation of 1,501 foreign nationals from 20 different countries between February 25 and 28, 2026. Among those deported were 658 Chinese nationals involved in online scam operations. The individuals were removed via special flights from Phnom Penh International Airport. This action aligns with the government's intensified measures to cleanse the country of cybercrimes and illegal residency.
