Cambodia and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Bilateral Trade Cooperation

On February 8, 2026, Her Excellency Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, welcomed His Excellency Waleed Nasser Alsheri, Chairman of the Arab Omani-Cambodia Business Council, along with the Arab Omani trade delegation, to discuss strengthening bilateral trade relations between Cambodia and the Arab Omani region.

During the meeting, Minister Cham Nimul briefed on recent updates related to Cambodia’s economic and trade policies. The Minister invited the Arab Omani Business Council to consider investment opportunities within Cambodia’s special economic zones, particularly for halal product manufacturing.

In response, Chairman Waleed Nasser Alsheri recognized the growth of Cambodia’s trade sector and expressed intentions to organize future official trade visits by the Arab Omani delegation to Cambodia. He also acknowledged Cambodia’s strategic importance as a trade integration gateway within ASEAN and noted alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

Both parties reaffirmed their strong commitment to executing an action plan under the memorandum of understanding on promoting trade relations between Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce and the General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT) of the Arab Omani countries. They emphasized effective and sincere cooperation through the Arab Omani-Cambodia Business Council to further connect the business communities of both countries.
