2026 Annual Education, Youth and Sport Work Summary Forum: Forum 2 on Higher Education Development for Innovation and Economic Growth

Background

On February 12, 2026, the second forum of the annual Education, Youth and Sport work summary was held under the theme “Higher Education Development for Innovation and Economic Growth.” The event was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport. It took place at the Cambodia Institute of Technology in Phnom Penh with participation from ministry leadership, provincial and municipal education board representatives, education officials, development partners, and national and international guests from all 25 provinces and municipalities.

This forum is part of the summary and forward-looking works for the academic years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 in the education, youth, and sport sectors. It addresses higher education policies and institutional governance approaches contributing to human capital development aligned with sustainable and resilient development.

  1. Research, innovation, and technology ecosystems in higher education, presented by His Excellency Dr. San Vathana, Secretary of State, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.
  2. Reducing skill gaps through curriculum modernization and teaching methods improvements, presented by His Excellency Professor Po Kim Tho, Director of the Cambodia Institute of Technology.
  3. Development of international curriculum programs to enhance quality standards and student outcomes, presented by His Excellency Professor Dr. Hao Peng, Rector of the National University of Management.
  4. Strengthening governance for sustainable development of higher education institutions, presented by His Excellency Professor Tum Saravuth, Rector of Svay Rieng University, and Her Excellency Professor Dr. Seng Mom, Vice-Rector of the Royal University of Agriculture.
