Background
On March 5, 2026, senior officials from the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), led by Deputy Director General Khun Channarith, conducted a study visit to the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI). The visit aimed to exchange knowledge and explore technical cooperation relating to the registration and data systems for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and handicrafts, particularly concerning the CamDX digital registration platform.
Scope of Application
This initiative focuses on the registration and deregistration (suspension or closure) mechanisms of SMEs and handicraft enterprises, aiming to ensure that social security benefits and services are effectively provided to employees working within Cambodia’s industrial sectors.
Key Provisions or Decisions
During the visit, both parties agreed in principle to establish a technical framework for mutual data exchange and evaluation to support seamless information sharing between MISTI’s information technology systems and the NSSF’s CamDX system. This framework serves as fundamental infrastructure to facilitate enhanced digital services and improve service delivery efficiency to NSSF members and enterprise owners.
Implications for Investors, Businesses, or Compliance
The cooperation will improve the accuracy and timeliness of enterprise registration records, thereby ensuring that employee social security entitlements in the industrial sectors are better supported. It will facilitate easier and more effective digital interactions between businesses and social security administration, potentially increasing compliance and service accessibility for SMEs.
